Setting file transfer default options
You can change the file transfer default options for both Host File Transfer and FTP/sftp File
Transfer.
Setting host file transfer default options
Each host system has its own transfer options.
You can get to the host file transfer default options in either of two ways:
- From a session configuration window, as a user or as an administrator, open the session
properties and click File Transfer.
- From a session itself, click Actions > File Transfer Defaults.
Then do as follows:
- On the General tab, set the correct host system for this session. If the host system
is incorrect, transfer will fail because the wrong options are used. Change the other
parameters as necessary.
- To change any of the file transfer options, click the
tab for the appropriate host system. For i5/OS, OS/400, VM/CMS and CICS, the first option must be
preceded by an open parenthesis ' ( '.
- Click OK when you finish.
Setting FTP/sftp default file transfer options
You can set a number of FTP transfer options.
You can get to the FTP file transfer default options by:
- From the Client window, as a user or as an administrator: right-click on the session to open
and click Properties.
- From the Administrator window, right-click on the user or group and select Sessions.
Right-click on the FTP session in the Configured Sessions window and select Properties.
- From a session itself, configured to use FTP for file transfer instead of host file
transfer: click Actions > File Transfer Defaults, or click Edit > Preferences > File
Transfer Defaults.
Then do as follows:
- In the Connection window, set the Destination Address, User ID and Password for this session.
Change the other parameters as necessary.
- In the Transfer Type window, set the ASCII File Types list and any other applicable parameters.
- Click OK when you finish.
