Customizing Client window icons

You can customize the default icons that Host On-Demand uses for sessions in the Client window. To customize the default session icons:

1. Export an existing Host On-Demand session either from the client or the server. Refer to Export Session in the online documentation for more information.



2. Open the resulting *.hod file in a text editor.
   
   
   • To customize how the session looks in the Client window when it is the selected session, change the name of the graphic file referred to by the selectedImage parameter.
   
   
   
   • To customize how the session looks in the Client window when it is not the selected session, change the name of the graphic file referred to by the unselectedImage parameter.
   
   

   You must place your graphic files in the HOD\images directory.

   
   Save your changes to the *.hod file.



3. Import the *.hod file using the client or the server. Refer to Import Session in on-line documentation for more information.

To ensure that your customized session icons are displayed in the Client window while running in offline mode (HOD's web server not available), do the following steps. Otherwise, the icons display only in online mode (HOD's web server available).

1. Put your customized icon images into a .jar file.
2. Copy this .jar file to the HOD publish directory, for example, C:\Program Files\IBM\HostOnDemand\HOD\.
3. Use the Deployment Wizard to add the AdditionalArchives HTML parameter with the value of the name of your .jar file, without the file extension. See HTML parameters.
