Customize Toolbar
You can customize the toolbar buttons associated with a particular Host On-Demand session definition.
You can only customize settings while the session is active.
Host On-Demand preserves these settings when the session ends and uses them to rebuild
the toolbar buttons when you restart the session.
You can add a new button to launch an applet, run an application, go to a specified URL,
play a macro, assign a keyboard function,
access basic menu items, or launch Host On-Demand help options.
For more information, read Adding toolbar buttons.
To edit a toolbar button, start the session, and right-click the button on the toolbar that you want to edit.
Click Edit Button to open a window that allows you to update the fields for the selected toolbar button.
The following list describes some of the changes that you can make to a toolbar button (For more information about
each type of toolbar button, refer to Adding toolbar buttons):
- To update the Toolbar Text field, edit the text label. This changes the text that appears on the button.
- To update the Description field, provide a new description of the button function.
This description appears at the bottom of the Client window when the mouse rolls over the button.
- To change the icon setting for your button, do the following:
- Click Default to accept the default icon shown in the window.
- Click Change to customize the button appearance with your own icon. The Change window appears,
which allows you to type a URL path for an icon image or the pathname of a GIF file.
(If the size of the GIF file is not 16x16, the file will be resized to 16x16, and the image may be unclear.
Also, depending on size of the image file and download time, it may take awhile for the new image to appear.)
- When you are finished with your changes, click OK to save your updates.
.
Remove
To remove added buttons and spacers, right-click the unwanted icon and choose Remove from
the popup menu.
Insert Spacer
To create a space between buttons on the toolbar, right-click on a button and select Insert
Spacer from the popup menu. The spacer appears to the left of the button where you right-clicked
and the other buttons on the toolbar shift to the right.
Open
This opens the Toolbar File Options - Open window, which allows you to open a toolbar definition from either
the current session or a file. The current toolbar definition in your session is selected by default.
For more information, refer to Opening Keyboard and Toolbar configuration components.
Save As
This opens the Toolbar File Option - Save As window, which allows you to save a toolbar definition to either
the current session or a file. The
current toolbar setting in your session is selected by default.
For more information, refer to Saving Keyboard and Toolbar configuration components.
Rearrange
To rearrange buttons on the toolbar, hold down either the right or left mouse button on a toolbar button, and then drag the button to the position that you want it to appear on the toolbar. If you drag a toolbar button off of the toolbar, it will not move and you will not lose the button.
You can revert to the default toolbar settings that your administrator defined when configuring your session.
Right-click the toolbar and select Set to Default or select Edit > Preferences > Toolbar > Set to Default.
|
When you revert to the default toolbar settings, any changes that you have made will be lost.
Host On-Demand prompts you to confirm this before allowing you to complete this action. |
