Fixed Font
This option controls whether Host On-Demand keeps the font size the same when you resize the session window or if the font size adjusts to find the largest font size available to fit the session window. Fixed font set to Yes requires a Java 2 environment.

Fixed Font Size
When Fixed Font is set to Yes, select the font size in the Fixed Font Size listbox that you want Host On-Demand to use.

BIDI Font Codepage
This field is only enabled if a BIDI host codepage is selected. If Unicode is selected, only fonts that have the full BIDI unicode range will be available in the Font Name list. If a value other than Unicode is selected, the entire list of fonts detected by the JVM will be available in the Font Name list. With this choice, you must select a proper font that supports the selected codepage.

Font Name
From the Font Name listbox, select the font that you want Host On-Demand to use to display characters in the session window.

Which fonts are listed in the Font Name listbox, and which font is selected as the default font, depend on the following factors:

The session type, such as 3270 Display.
The Host Code Page that you have selected in the Connection window of the session configuration.
The setting (Yes or No) that you have selected for Fixed Font in the Font window of the session configuration.
The fonts available in the JVM (Java Virtual Machine).

Notes:

The IBM3270 font is available even if the session type is 5250 Display or VT Display. If VT-UTF8 is selected as a Terminal Type for a VT session, the IBM3270 fonts will only be available for certain Latin 1 locales or Hebrew, Arabic, and Thai UTF8 host code pages.

The list of available fonts might include:

A raster font, such as IBM3270, ARB3270 (Arabic), HEB3270 (Hebrew), or THA3270 (Thai).
One or more non-raster fonts, such as Monospaced, Courier, Letter Gothic, and others.

The raster fonts are similar to the sans-serif default font used by IBM Personal Communications.

Note: The following font limitations can occur when using Java 2:

Fonts that are in a non-Latin 1 language might be displayed as garbage.
Fonts that are not adequate for text display (for example, barcode font) might be displayed in the list of available fonts.

Font Style
Choose Plain, Italic, or Bold.

The default is Plain.

Lock
Select Lock to prevent users from changing the associated startup value for a session. Users can not change values for most fields because the fields are unavailable. However, functions accessed from the session menu or tool bar can be changed.

Optimize for Widescreen
Fonts scale to occupy the entire presentation area on resize thus getting rid of the extra blank space. This feature is available only for SBCS codepage display sessions.
