Disable Functions: Macro
The radio buttons on the Macro pane enable or disable macro functions
on the main toolbar and the Macro Manager toolbar of display emulation sessions.
For more information on macros, see
Using the Macro Manager in the online help
and
the Host On-Demand Macro Programming Guide.
Functions:
- Play Macro
-
Plays a macro. Play macro appears on the session toolbar,
the Macro Manager toolbar, and on the Action menu.
|
Macros configured to start automatically start even if Play Macro is disabled.
|
- Edit Macro
- Opens the Macro Editor so that you can modify or create a macro. The Edit Macro button appears on the Macro Manager toolbar. The Macro Manager must be enabled to use this function.
- Delete Macro
- Deletes a macro from the Macro Manager macro list. Delete macro appears on the Macro Manager toolbar. The Macro Manager must be enabled to use this function.
- Record Macro
- Records a new macro and saves it in the Macro Manager macro list. Record Macro appears on the session toolbar,
the Macro Manager toolbar, and the Action menu.
- Toggle Macro Manager State
- Displays the Macro Manager toolbar where you can record, play, and edit macros. Macro Manager appears on the toolbar and the View menu.
- Personal Macro Library
-
Allows users to access and use a personal macro library on their local drives.
When disabled,
the personal macro library location is not an option on any of the
macro windows, but users will still have access to any server macro libraries that you have configured.
- Record Password
-
This feature controls how
Host On-Demand records a input key sequence typed into
a 3270 or 5250 non-display input field during macro recording.
A non-display input field is a 3270 or 5250 field
that does not display characters when you type into it.
Typically a non-display input field
is used for entering confidential information such as a password.
-
When Record Password is enabled (this is the default),
then when a user types an input key sequence into
a 3270 or 5250 non-display input field,
Host On-Demand records the input key sequence as an Input action and
encrypts the input key sequence in the Input action using the Password option.
Then, during macro playback, when Host On-Demand processes the Input action,
it automatically decrypts the recorded input key sequence
and types it into the 3270 or 5250 non-display input field.
-
When Record Password is disabled,
then during macro recording,
when the user types an input key sequence into a 3270 or 5250
non-display input field,
Host On-Demand discards the input key sequence
and creates a Prompt action in the recorded macro script instead of an Input action.
During macro playback, when Host On-Demand processes the Prompt action,
it prompts the user for the input key sequence.
For the relative advantages of enabling Record Password
versus disabling it, and for other information on this option,
see
Record Password
in the Macro Programming Guide.

indicates that the currently selected user or group
(such as User1)
inherits the setting of the group to which it belongs,
and that this setting is enabled in the group.
For example, if you are editing the profile of User1,
and you set Add Sessions to Inherited (Enabled) for User1,
this indicates that User1 inherits the Add Sessions setting of the group to which it belongs,
and that currently the group to which it belongs has Add Sessions set to Enabled.
- Inherited (Disabled)
-
This setting, which is available only when you open the Disable Functions window
from the Administration Utility,
indicates that the currently selected user or group inherits
the setting of the group to which it belongs,
and that this setting is disabled in the group.
- Inherit All

The currently selected user or group inherits all its
settings from the group to which it belongs.
