Disable Functions: Edit Permissions
The radio buttons on the Edit Permissions pane enable or disable
edit functions located in the following areas of the Host On-Demand
client user interface
(for 3270 Display, 5250 Display, and VT Display sessions):

The SQL Wizard
-
The File Upload Wizard
-
The Data Transfer Defaults window,
which is accessible either from the client session window
(Actions > Data Transfer Defaults)
or from the session properties window.
However, these radio buttons cannot be used
to enable or disable edit functions in Database On-Demand sessions.
For Database On-Demand sessions, use the controls
in the Database On-Demand Group Options window
or the Database On-Demand User Options window,
accessible from the Administration Utility
(see Database On-Demand Group/User Options).
Functions:
- Create Query

Allows the user of a Host On-Demand client to create new SQL statements and File Upload statements.
The following table shows the locations in the client user interface

Create an SQL statement:

The New button on the Receive Data from Host window
(Actions > Transfer Data > Receive Data from Host > New)

- Save Query

Allows the user of a Host On-Demand client to save SQL statements and File Upload statements
that he or she has created or modified.
This option is valid
only if Create Query is enabled.

Save a File Upload statement:

- Delete Query

Allows the user of a Host On-Demand client to delete a previously saved SQL statement or File Upload statement.
A user can delete only an SQL or File Upload statement
that he or she has saved.

- Edit SQL statement

Allows the user of a Host On-Demand client to manually edit a generated SQL statement
before saving it.

- Edit Timeout value
-
Allows the user of a Host On-Demand client to change the timeout value
for an SQL statement.
This option adds or removes the SQL query timeout field
on the General pane of the Data Transfer Defaults window,
which is accessible either from the client session window
(Actions > Data Transfer Defaults)
or from the session properties window.
- Edit Table filter
-
Allows the user of a Host On-Demand client to modify or replace the list of
schema names, schema filters, table names, and table filters
that is specified by the Host On-Demand administrator
and that determines the contents of the
List of available tables
in both the SQL Wizard and the File Upload Wizard.
This option adds or removes the Table Filter field
on the Tables pane of the Data Transfer Defaults window,
which is accessible either from the client session window
(Actions > Data Transfer Defaults)
or from the session properties window.
Settings:
- Enabled

Enables the function for:
-
All users who access the HTML file (HTML-based client model); or
-
The currently selected user or group
(configuration server-based client model and combined client model).
The menu item, button, or toolbar icon for this function is added to the user interface of the client.
- Disabled
-
Disables the function.
The menu item, button, or toolbar icon for this function is removed from the user interface of the client.
- Enable All
-
Enables all the functions listed on the current pane.
- Disable All
-
Disables all the functions listed on the current pane.
- Inherited (Enabled)
-
This setting, which is available only when you open the Disable Functions window
from the Administration Utility,
indicates that the currently selected user or group
(such as User1)
inherits the setting of the group to which it belongs,
and that this setting is enabled in the group.
For example, if you are editing the profile of User1,
and you set Add Sessions to Inherited (Enabled) for User1,
this indicates that User1 inherits the Add Sessions setting of the group to which it belongs,
and that currently the group to which it belongs has Add Sessions set to Enabled.
- Inherited (Disabled)

This setting, which is available only when you open the Disable Functions window
from the Administration Utility,
indicates that the currently selected user or group inherits
the setting of the group to which it belongs,
and that this setting is disabled in the group.
- Inherit All
-
The currently selected user or group inherits all its
settings from the group to which it belongs.
